Research

My interests include a variety of subjects, such as

Currently I'm the principal investigator of the QPACE project (QCD Parallel Computing on the Cell Broadband Engine), which is pursuing the design, development and construction of a novel supercomputing architecture for lattice QCD, based on the PowerXCell 8i processor and a reconfigurable network coprocessor. These activities are performed in close collaboration with the IBM R&D Lab in Böblingen, Germany, several academic institutions (DESY Zeuthen, Research Center Jülich, Milano Univ., Ferrara Univ., Wuppertal Univ.) and companies (Eurotech, Knürr, Rambus, Xilinx). QPACE is funded by the DFG (SFB/TR-55) and by IBM. See this article for an overview of QPACE.

If you are interested in doing a diploma or doctoral thesis on one of these subjects, just contact me.
